The Signs…What Meaning Do You Give Them?

On a cool day in late November, I had an encounter of what now appears to be an angel. A question my Sister needed answered guided us to a U.S. Official in Washington. Burly in appearance; she walked around the building with us telling us her life story. Questioning to myself “I wonder why she left her post?” Then came a sign, she told my sister to stop crying over my mother who passed away a few months earlier. “How could she know?” I thought to myself. After 2 years, I decided to call her cell only to find out that she never existed! Was it an angel? What message is in this?

Have you ever been going through a tough situation in life and all of a sudden driving down the road you see a billboard with the word “Strength?” Or wondering what your purpose in life is only to be greeted by a friend who hands you a charm that says “Miracle?” Many people believe that angels are God’s messengers at work in the world today.

Do signs carry precise meanings for people at the perfect timing in their lives? Or, is it our minds and the meaning we give to words, objects and numbers that create them to appear as divine intervention? When you see 555 this is supposed to mean something major is about to happen in your life, good or bad. Then you experience 3 deaths in 30 days, it’s then that you decide to pay attention to the meaning.

Signs, signs they are everywhere! However, to notice them you have to be in tune with life. Having come close to death 3 times, it appears to have raised my level of awareness and consciousness. I never remembered seeing these signs years ago. When you live in a state of taxed out time and toxicity it tends to place blinders on you. Upon removing myself from a toxic marriage, these signs appeared to be laid at the path of my feet everywhere I went. From a small whisper to feathers and pennies on the street, the more I got closer to my self-fulfilled purpose the messages got stronger and stronger

What signs have you experienced in life? Have you been paying attention or just walking around in your own little bubble? Are there numbers, voices, people, license plates, billboards, phone calls, feathers, or book covers? What has your journey been like to cause you to pay attention to the signs? What ever your story is know this, your messengers are trying to get your attention. If you are not listening you may miss out on the best part of your journey. Make today be the day that you choose to tune in to what is going on around you and allow it to change your life forever!

Root Matters Causing Disease and Emotional Blockages

As a Holistic Health Coach I deal with a lot of “root Matters” and many of them stem back to child hood. I talk about in my book “True Confessions of the Heart” that I grew up in a toxic environment and several tragic events happened. Because I was not in a true state of awareness, I carried those wounds forward into my adulthood which caused me to attract more toxicity into my life. When I started to feed my brain with the right nutrients; a combination of nutritional supplements and whole foods, I began to see things clearer. Then when I removed myself from the toxic environment I was living in, that is when true healing began. I couldn’t see what the real picture looked like until I began to detox; body/mind/spirit. This is when I gained a sense of truth and realized that when a person is functioning under extreme levels of stress their cells become programmed in “fight or flight” status. When our central nervous systems are in constant heightened awareness, our organs become stressed and fatigued leading to inflammation, compromised immune systems and disease. So, when I am trying to access what the true cause of a complaint is I always ask lots of questions as a means of digging to determine the root cause. This is important for someone who is seeking longevity.

There are two main things that in my opinion have a tremendous impact on longevity, a positive mental attitude and nutrition. As we feed our brain with the right nutrients, it becomes easier to think positive. Think of a hose when it is stuck under a tire, the water trickles out of the hose but once you straighten the hose, the full force of water flows through. Well that is what our brain is like. By consuming whole foods it helps to enhance memory and create alertness. Whereas processed foods tend to make our brain cells sluggish, creating brain fog and then we can’t think clearly and it becomes harder to maintain a positive mental attitude.

Many people today say they are finding it hard to eat healthy in this economy where it appears to cost twice as much for groceries. I would recommend again that you shop with a level of awareness. I have our household eating style narrowed down. My children like meat and I am vegetarian. We all eat natural/organic foods including the dog for approximately $700/month. I know families today that have the same number of people in their house hold and they eat commercial products for the same amount of money. After coming close to death a few times and previously experiencing a laundry list of health problems, now having reversed my health naturally I realize the important impact that eating healthy can have on our lives. I would rather go without other things that families view as important, to be able to eat organic whole foods and keep my health in check for if we don’t have our health than what do we have?

Did You Know That Your Thoughts Could Have A Negative Affect On Your Health?

Research shows that around 87% of illnesses can be attributed to our thought life. In fact, more chronic diseases are linked to toxic emotions. Negative Thinking can cause migraines, hypertension, strokes, cancer, skin problems, diabetes, infections, allergies and much more. Studies have made a direct correlation between anxiety/fear and heart palpitations, irritable bowel syndrome, tension headaches and heart problems. This is proof that the mind and body are integrally connected.

For many people it’s difficult to change the way they think about and approach life. So, here are some specific steps that can be taken to open your mind and change your negative thought patterns:

1. Choose to be conscious about your thoughts and live in awareness. You can’t change what you don’t know is wrong. It is your choice to accept information or forget it, whether it is something you are thinking or something that is being said to you.

2. Monitor you feelings, fear is the root of stress. After all, 90% of life is our perception to the actual 10% of events happening.

3. Understand that healing is a process and not an event; to heal you have to deal. Your memories of the past are stored in your body at a cellular level, which can affect your DNA and create disease. To heal you need to reflect but the only way you can do this is by silencing your mind.

4. Express emotion in a healthy way, for some people this is through journaling.

5. Get good sleep so you can think clearly.

6. Write down positive affirmations such as, “I am loved” and post them on your mirror where you can say them every day so you can reprogram your cells. Along with this build strong new memories. I talk in my book “True Confessions of the Heart” how I spent 2 years traveling the North Country after enduring a life long series of toxic events. The memories that were created and documented in my book transformed my life from the inside/out.

7. Practice forgiveness, it’s a choice and holding on to anger and resentment causes damage to our bodies. Life is short, I know because as I mentioned in my book, my Mom passed away unexpectedly over 2 years ago. When tragic events happen like that it redefines life. The true meaning of life is communing with others, building healthy relationships and memories for when you are on your deathbed you will be thinking of all the wonderful times you spent together.

Are You at Risk For Diabetes or Have You Already Been Diagnosed?

According to the Chronic Disease Prevention Association “Diabetes affects 25.8 million people, that is 8.3% of the U.S. population” and that number continues to rise. Diabetes if uncontrolled can lead to blindness, kidney failure, amputation and heart disease. Supplementation may be helpful if a person is at risk because their energy metabolism is impaired. R-Lipoic Acid has been demonstrated to activate the insulin-signaling pathway and exert insulin-like actions in adipose and muscle cells. Alpha-lipoic acid is found in every cell of the body and is responsible for assisting in the body’s generation of daily energy. This super antioxidant functions in both water and fat tissues to help terminate free radicals and turn our body’s blood sugar into energy. It is a naturally occurring compound which becomes impaired when we experience oxidative stress due to the imbalance between the formation and neutralization of pro-oxidants. When these oxidant reserves are compromised, levels of glucose are elevated resulting in a person experiencing an insulin-resistant state of pre-diabetes.

R-LIPOIC ACID

Supplementation of R-Lipoic Acid is good but can be less effective if food choices are not reviewed. The proper foods that should be consumed are low glycemic index ones such as fresh organic fruits, vegetables, nuts, hormone and antibiotic free meats and brown rice.

I have personally incorporated these food choices and reversed my pre-diabetic state. I take 300mg of PURE R-Lipoic acid daily and not only was my sugar levels balanced but my “brain fog” was lifted. If you are over the age of 30, chances are you are deficient in Lipoic Acid.
